Project Rio Description

A grieving mother, Jade, who refuses to cope with the loss of her child, dedicates her life and resources to researching eternal preservation for her son, Gael. To accelerate this research, she uses her group of loyal followers to go into Barrio Bajo to kidnap those who she can use as test subjects. While the government eventually catches on, she stages a coup to seize control and progress her research with no limitation.

When Rye, one of her loyal followers disagrees with her experiments, he attempts to steal young Gael away from her and her husband Rufus. After a deadly struggle which leaves Rufus gravely injured and Jade under the impression that her remaining son is dead, she becomes enraged. A strict regime has taken over New Rio and Jade has made the city center her home where she awaits her husband’s return to consciousness from his coma.

This is where we find Gael in Barrio Baja, a rough section of New Rio where a mixture of thugs and ex-rebels live. It is here where Gael awakens with a new cybernetic arm and no memory of who he was. He grows up with his mentor who, on his dying day, tries to tell Gael who he really is. However, when Gael is unable to decrypt the message on the Neurosync he sets on a path of revenge and sets on his path to discover the hidden message left behind.

Players will meet friends and foes along the way to help discover who Gael and his mentor really are.
